How to write and read spoiler-free reviews

Nobody wants to learn the finale while reading reviews. There are a few practical ways to avoid spoilers and to write spoiler-free reviews.

Tips for writing spoiler-free reviews

How should spoiler protection really work?

In many places a spoiler warning is just a curtain on the screen; the text still reaches the device. In I Watched This the protection works on the server:

The power of episode-level reviews

When someone who finished a show and someone on episode three share one comment area, nobody is happy. Because you can review every season and episode separately, you can read the conversation up to where you are and move on as you progress.

Frequently asked questions

Can everyone see reviews flagged as spoilers?

No. The text of a spoiler-flagged review is not sent from the server to people who have not watched that title.

Why are episode summaries hidden?

Summaries can reveal later events. Summaries of episodes you have not watched stay hidden until you tap; you can turn it off in Settings.

Is spoiler protection free?

Yes, every feature of I Watched This is free and the app has no ads.
