Watch diary: log what you watched and when
It is hard to remember which show you left at which episode last month, or on which night you watched that movie. A watch diary keeps it for you.
Why keep a watch diary?
- To remember: look back at which episode you watched on which day.
- To see your habits: how many movies a month, which genres, which months you watch most.
- To share: show friends your yearly recap and cards for titles you rated.
A watch diary in I Watched This
When you mark a movie or an episode, a watch date is saved. When you pick “Completed” the app asks right away: release day, a day you choose, or no date. You can edit it later.
- Calendar → Watched: a month calendar shows dots on days you watched; tap a day to open the movies and episodes of that day.
- For series you see the season and episode number and the episode name; episodes of the same day are grouped on one card.
- Day boundaries follow your phone’s time zone, so an episode watched after midnight lands on the right day.
- The yearly recap shows total hours, genres and months; share the recap and rated cards as images in one tap.
- You can import your history from Letterboxd, MyAnimeList or Trakt.
Tips
- If you do not remember the date, pick “no date”; those entries stay in your list but do not show on the calendar.
- When you rewatch a title, mark it as watched again; the counter goes up.
- Use the arrows to go back through earlier months.
